Cynthia Harvey is a painter residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2011, she earned a Certificate in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Using light and vibrant color, she draws inspiration from the world around her, including cats, plants and those closest to her. Cynthia has an intense fascination with the life created by the push and pull of paint, often creating abstracted or dream like paintings. She has participated in various group shows in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey and has won several awards and honors.

I am always looking. My intimate connection with the subjects trigger unique color and texture situations. Color flows through my experience, becoming part of the painting as the visualizations depart from strictly observed reality. The texture comes about through intense sessions of constructing, plowing, breaking and re-forging. The process of destroying and rebuilding continues until what’s on the surface represents my progressing impression of the original forms.
